October 2014 Core Strategy Pre-Trade Analysis

Once a month, Options-Intelligence uses its vast options trading history to generate key statistics to aid our Core Options Trading Strategy members. These statistics are designed to arm option trades with invaluable information and insight into the the trends and expectations for the upcoming option trading cycle.

Historical Option Performance for October

Coming off the highs from September and August, October may seem like a run of the mill month for the Core Strategy, however, this really couldn't be further from the truth. For us, October serves as a benchmark month. This is a month that produces great returns with almost clock-like consistency. Take a peek at the stats (to the right) and you will see what we mean. October is the de facto Core Strategy month. As of this writing, you'll find the winning history and average return for October are almost identical to those same statistics for the Core overall.

Historically successful picks

Much like last month, October has a bevy of stocks that have performed well in the past. Tech tickers such as AAPL, GOOG, and the QQQs perform quite admirably with perfect or near perfect winning histories.

Statistical Expectations for October

We have every reason to believe this October will be another great month based on our statistics. As a benchmark month, October really removes any guesswork or uncertainty with regards to statistical performance.

Winning history at common returns

Risk adverse traders should easily be able to fetch returns in the 30% range, while those who are more tolerant of risk should be comfortable with the upper end of our target profit at 50%.
