Analysis
As our existing members are no doubt keenly aware, the Monthly Options strategy always starts out a new year with a bit of a fizzle. January has traditionally been challenging for the strategy in years past. The key stats reflect this quite clearly as does the risk v. reward chart below.
A review of the trade history shows more than one year where the strategy completely fell flat. Just last year, we saw significant loses in 5 out of 6 of our trades. Similar losses were produced in 2017, 2013, and 2002. Again, a very challenging month.
On the upside, we are still showing an overall winning history of about 3 out of 4 trades at an average return 10 points higher than our target range. Furthermore, past years such as 2020, 2019, and 2018 were stellar with several triple digit returns.

Trade Recommendations
More than any other month, it is critical to diversify your trades in January. No single pick (that we still trade) has a perfect winning history.
Target Profit Recommendations
Lower end of the target range. Take profits as presented and move on.
