August 2021 Monthly Options Analysis

Our analysis of the Monthly Options trading strategy for August yields some promising results. The most promising is by far the 95% winning history, which is the highest overall wins vs. trades for the strategy. Unfortunately, this result comes from a reduced overall number of trades at 116 when compared to other months, however, if you review the trade history you will see there is simply a gap in our data from 2003 - 2006. This is likely from data not converted from our old HTML results into our database. That aside, August remains the best month for overall winning picks for the strategy and it has done so with at 125% average return and even boats one of our largest ever returns for the Monthly Options strategy (POT at 1207% in 2010).

Compared to last month, the risk v. reward is not quite as positive where August still outperforms the strategy as a whole but closes that gap as soon beyond 50% returns. This means for our target profit range, August over delivers but beyond our range more or less runs in parity with the strategy as a whole.

Unlike last month, we actually do have historically  successful picks that have maintained a perfect record thus so far in cluding AAPL, GOOG, QQQ, SPY, and WYNN. Some of these picks have not been traded each year, however, QQQ is impressively 12 for 12 for the month of August.

For fear of sounding like a broken record we do more or less find ourselves without much headroom on many of our typical picks. But, per the history, we should still be well positioned to make modest 30% - 50% returns with our strategy this month and there are a handful of promising trades to choose from.
