July 2018 Monthly Analysis

Let's get straight to the point. It's very clear that July has been a tremendous month for our members with one of the highest winning histories, average returns, and total number of trades. This is one of our outlier months on the upside of the strategy overall. Just glance at the comparison chart (below) for the month to see exactly how well this month outperforms the strategy as a whole. At every risk vs. reward July consistently has at least a 10% higher success rate for the same return over the entire range of returns. In fact, this higher success rate actually widens at higher rates of return compare the strategy at a 50% and 100% return in the risk v. reward table below.

Reviewing the trade history, it's pretty clear how July has built such strong results. With the exception of 2011, the monthly strategy has largely produced wins with the occasional losing option intermixed throughout the 15 years of recorded data. In addition, we still have options that have only produced positive results in July.

A word of caution. It is easy to get swept away with the data, but we are advocates of the long game and so we recommend following our target guidelines to book profits as soon as they are presented and then close your positions to mitigate risk.
